Description

The VMC VENTURI Air Box is a filter box designed to enhance your Vespa engine's performance. Its aluminum body boasts a classic yet sophisticated look.

Featuring a larger internal volume compared to the original filter box, and a completely round "venturi" trumpet, not compromised by cuts or various chamfers like other alternative products on the market, air can enter more easily and quickly, promoting a more intense airflow to the carburetor. This increased air intake capacity translates to improved power, acceleration, and maximum speed for the engine.

Moreover, the VMC VENTURI Air Box is equipped with an internal system allowing you to mount an air filter of your choice, with two different filtration capacity models available. This flexibility enables you to choose the most suitable configuration based on your driving conditions and vehicle usage.

It is also compatible with carburetors equipped with mixers.

Advantages:

Enhances engine performance
Increases power, acceleration, and maximum speed
Compatible with carburetors with or without mixers
Ability to mount an air filter directly in the box
Sophisticated and classic look
Unyielding aluminum body
The VMC VENTURI Air Box is compatible with the following Vespa models: Super / GL / GT / Gtr / Sprint / Ts / Rally 180/200 / PX 125/150 / PE200 with or without mixers.

The venturi hole has a Ø 26mm diameter and fits perfectly with carburetors of this size. To adapt it to smaller carburetors, the first part of the carburetor intake duct needs to be filed down, while for carburetors larger than 26mm in diameter, the venturi needs slight filing to match the carburetor's diameter.

The VMC VENTURI Air Box is a high-quality product offering excellent performance and a sophisticated look.

It's the ideal solution for those looking to enhance their engine's performance and give their Vespa a timeless touch of style.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:
- Start by removing the filter box cover, the filter and the idle screw from your carburettor, clean and degrease all surfaces of the box and the carburettor and check that the rubber gasket which is placed between the box and cover is in good condition and that has no missing parts, if so, replace it with a new one.
- The venturi duct hole on the bottom of the Vmc airbox is Ø 26mm and fits perfectly with carburettors of this size. To adapt it to smaller carburettors, you need to file the first part of the carburetor intake duct to match it to the shape of the box; to adapt it to carburettors with a diameter greater than 26mm it is necessary to slightly file the venturi duct on the Vmc airbox to adapt to the diameter of the carburetor.
- Now proceed to screw the 2 m5 grub screws which serve as centering for the Vmc airbox onto the body of the carburettor; check that they are screwed all the way down and that they do not create an obstacle to the lower part of the Vmc airbox, otherwise shorten them as necessary; also screw the idle speed adjustment screw that you find supplied with its spring into place.
- In this phase we recommend replacing the air brake from 160 to 150/140 and maximum jets approximately +15/20 points
- To mount the Vmc airbox on SI G series carburettors (vespa T5) you need to apply a 4/5 mm thickness of gasket paper or aluminum between the body of the carburettor and the Vmc airbox
- now proceed to insert the sponge filter between the two rows of spikes present in the lower part of the Vmc airbox, using a tip or a screwdriver you can also insert both filters to have maximum filtering capacity, or choose to insert only one choose between the two in the kit or do not mount anything to have maximum passage; - now apply a thin layer of silicone paste between the upper and lower part of the Vmc airbox and being careful not to pinch the filter between the upper and lower part of the box, close the two shells together by tightening the 4 m5x20 screws supplied;
- close the suction hole on the original box with the rubber cap supplied in the kit; Now position the previously assembled Vmc airbox on the original carburetor shell, centering it on the dowels and the idle screw, pre-assembling the m5x80 countersunk screw, then using the m5x60 Allen key supplied, secure it in position.
- check that the original rubber sleeve/bellows is in good condition, otherwise replace it with a new one; now move on to fitting the rubber sleeve/bellows between the frame and the Vmc filter box; check that the sleeve is not rotated too much on the connections and that it does not make any abnormal creases that could obstruct the passage of air. To best adapt it, you can rotate it on the frame attachment to align it best.
Idle adjustment: start the engine and from the upper hole on the Vmc airbox adjust the idle screw with a 3mm Allen key; then close the upper hole on the aribox with the m8 socket head screw and the plastic washer supplied.
To replace the jets or to access the carburettor, simply unscrew the m5x80 and m5x60 screws and remove the rubber intake pipe
